Iran doc ‘Finding Farideh’ is to attend Beirut Int'l Women Film Festival.

Iranian documentary ‘Finding Farideh’ has been scheduled to attend the Beirut International Women Film Festival (BWFF).

Co-directed by Azadeh Mousavi and Kourosh Ataei, the doc will be in competition at the Feature film section of the 3rd edition of the Lebanese film event.

‘Finding Farideh’ narrates the story of a woman in her forties who is looking for her biological parents. The woman, called Farideh, has lost her family almost 40 years ago in Imam Reza (AS) shrine in Mashhad city of Iran. At that time, she was sent to a Nursery where she was adopted by a Dutch family.

The family moved to the Netherlands and Farideh grew up there. Now, she is in search of her biological parents.

The film has already attended a number of international film events, including the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh, the Persian Film Festival in Australia and the Flahertiana Film Festival in Russia.

This year edition of the Beirut International Women Film Festival will be holding under the theme of ‘Women for Leadership’. According to the festival’s official website, the theme has been set to highlight “the role of women as leaders in their societies”.

The 3rd BWFF is slated for March 8-13, 2020.
